Thanksgiving Holiday Food, Fun and Family. Thanksgiving holiday is the biggest day about food, families gathering together and having fun.
I come from a large family. My memories include hosting the Thanksgiving holiday with 30 plus guests. Fast forward and Thanksgiving dinner at our house now consists of four, maybe seven people. It’s quieter, but a nice cozy gathering that I love.
Thanksgiving is about giving thanks and sharing. Here are some of my holiday food, fun and family ideas I got from friends of mine.
This year for our Thanksgiving holiday meal plan I am following Heather on Daily DIY Life. Her Tuesday Tips includes small steps to take for a stress free and manageable Thanksgiving meal. Thank goodness I hear Heather talking in my head as I go up and down the grocery isle. Now I’m relaxed and ready for the big day. She has a never-ending list of recipes. I plan to make her Spiced Sweet Apple Cider for guests.
Heather has an inspiring story I know you’ll want to read on Growing up in Plymouth, MA that includes her spiced sweet apple cider recipe if you’re looking for it.
After dinner is desert time. This ACORNucopia Cake from the queen of chocolate on I Really Love Chocolate is the perfect Thanksgiving Day desert don’t you agree? She creates something chocolate everyday and is turning me into a chocoholic.
Another desert idea I found is this easy recipe for Russian Tea Cookies by Carolann who curates Sassy Townhouse Living. I nicknamed her Sassy. She creates crafts, has beauty products tips, recipes, reviews and you’ll be shocked to know she has her own invention.
Time for Fun!
I’m taking my cue from Anjie of Makin My Apt a Home for a simple tablescape this year since we are under construction. Can you believe she created her Thanksgiving holiday table thrifting? She has a Thrifty Finds series I follow and inspired me to find our french door turned into transom window. I’m always in awe of her furniture before and after projects too. I count on her helping me in the future with projects of my own.
After a big turkey dinner it’s Movie Time!
I hope you read about Planes, Trains and Automobiles on Monday. I shared the inside of the real Planes, Trains and Automobile house and scenes from the movie. Its one of the best comedies starring Steve Martin and John Candy and sure to burn a few calories laughing.
One movie on the Netflix list for adults is An Old Fashioned Thanksgiving. It’s a Hallmark movie about a struggling widow trying to support her three children and can’t even afford a turkey. Hallmark saves the day when an unexpected visitor helps to change their lives. Head over to her Netflix list for more Thanksgiving holiday movie ideas.
I’m having a ball with Tidbits of Experience Blogging Tips. She is a genuine person and is entertaining. Her husband has a series called Thoughts From The Man Cave where he shares gaming reviews and a man’s perspective.
Be sure to visit my friends who have plenty of fun ideas. I am grateful for this group of women I now call my friend.
I want to wish you a Happy Thanksgiving.
Thank you dear readers for being part of Housekaboodle each year. I appreciate each and every one of you who take time out of your busy day to visit here.
