This cottage is a delightful place full of so many plants and multi-leveled walkways and sitting areas you might get lost or decide to sit for a while.
The listing says: “Quaint garden beds, water fountains, and many sculptures like gnomes and fairies.”
Located in Carmel, Ca, Oak Hill Haven is an old 1939 cottage with a lot of natural light from the windows and galore of glass doors.

We never really see the whole exterior of the house because of all the trees and plants surrounding the property. The grounds are all a bit messy but in a whimsical old cottage kind of way so we have to take a look.
Let’s enter through the fairytale gate to see the hideaway.

I love the old world crank out windows in the sunroom
This cottage is not “a place for everything and everything in its place” presentation-wise. It’s aptly called a haven, Oak Hill Haven, where anything seems possible.
Just for now, I vote this cottage a magical place in the forest to rest and in today’s world, this is special.

The kitchen needs updating but as is, I’m enchanted by the decorative window over the sink and its open or shut cottage shutters.
The Master Bedroom has a large stained glass window, and as often seen in Carmel homes, a charming stone fireplace.

The second bedroom has its own private beachy Dutch door entrance. A door such as this adds just the right amount of whimsy. Per the listing: Inside the house, the second bedroom is “a few steps down off the kitchen.”
Oak Hill Haven is a fairytale cottage hidden by mature trees and plants. There are multiple fountains, statues, sitting areas, and walkways that make it a peaceful haven.

This is one of my favorite shots of the house because it is reminiscent of a gnome house tucked into the woods.
