Lively Coastal Beach House is HGTV Dream Home 2016
This Florida Beach House is the HGTV Dream Home 2016
The HGTV Dream Home 2016 is a coastal beach house in Merritt Island, Florida that got a complete makeover. Designed by Brian Patrick Flynn, the house has a casual modern vibe with glam.
Some of the fun design points are the hot tropical colored walls. I am excited for you to see the soft, calm and blissfully dreamy living room and kitchen that I think steal the show.
The house is very different from the HGTV Dream Home 2015. At first I was not as in love with this year’s dream home as I was with other homes. After spending time looking at all the beautiful photos and decorating, I will never forget how lovely this beach home makeover turned out.
Winners of the home will feel like a star driving down their driveway flanked by tall palm trees.
The front courtyard after the remodel even has a white picket fence to add some east coast charm.
HGTV DREAM HOME 2016 – BEFORE
The beach house before looks like a big box with no personality, character or charm.
HGTV DREAM HOME 2016 – AFTER
Here’s a nice front exterior view of the HGTV Dream Home 2016. Beautiful old world style brick driveway has plenty of room to park the SUV that winners of the HGTV Giveaway will also receive.
BEFORE FOYER
AFTER FOYER
The foyer area design after is calming, blissful and a blend of the most wonderful blue-grays and white.
BEFORE LIVING ROOM
AFTER LIVING ROOM
Designer Brian Patrick Flynn says the living room is “light, bright, open and airy to maximize the incredible view.” A blue-gray color is on the walls and ceilings.
Tone on tone decorating makes the room flow with touches of texture from the pillows and rug. The industrial metal coffee table is not my cup of tea, but would be easy to keep up and looks great paired with the large hanging cage lanterns.
The floor to ceiling photo mural is my favorite element in this year’s HGTV Dream Home.
Here is a perfect view of the living room and kitchen. Imagine coming down the stairs every day and being hugged by this soft and dreamy beach home. The beach house remodel maximizes the views towards the waterfront.
KITCHEN
The designer of this kitchen is a genius. Instead of using more kitchen cabinets under the wall of windows, he used two nailhead dressers.
DINING ROOM
Three dome-shaped polished nickel pendant chandeliers.
MEDIA ROOM
Starting with the media room, the colors in the house are more vibrant.
Paint throughout the home is by Glidden High Endurance Interior Paint. This is a pretty grey-green color.
GUEST BEDROOM AND BATH
The guest bedroom gets a hot tropical design with walls and ceiling in terra-cotta. Ethan Allen Furniture sponsors the Dream Home if you’re interested in where you can acquire the furnishings.
I am thrilled with how the turquoise, white, and blue-gray penny tiles look in the bathroom.
TERRACE BEDROOM AND BATH
The diamond tufted headboard is a “soft, muted sea-foam color that’s more of a gray-green color.”
More round penny tiles in a darker blue and amazing swordfish art on the wall.
MASTER BEDROOM AND BATH
HGTV does say the master bedroom is the boldest colored room calling it majestic teal.
The master bedroom has french doors that open to the balcony with views of the water.
POOL, PATIO, AND DOCK
Pool and lower level patio area plus …
an upper patio area to lounge provides plenty of seating and room for all of your family and friends making memories to last a lifetime.
Pretty rear view of the dream home.
No beach house is complete without a dock and boat is it? Lucky winners of the HGTV Dream Home 2016 will have this dock that is 150 feet long and “reaches into the Indian River.”
A night rear view of the house from the dock with lights that guide your path.
