Charming Victorian Home Built in 1890 Restored to Life
Charming Victorian home built in 1890 has been restored to life. Give me the key please and I will move in. This charming Victorian home is in the Historic area of Sycamore, IL.
For three bedrooms, two bathrooms and tons of upgrades including hardwood, granite, marble…. New roof, windows, plumbing, electric, kitchen, baths, flooring…it lists for $182,500. Nice workshop area in the garage that has new carriage style doors.
I found this little nugget on Craigslist while trolling for something special. It’s missing the signature gingerbread scroll work like my other Victorian houses. It has a nicely updated front porch. As a charming Victorian home the exterior siding color choice should be brighter. The house is over a century old and is looking good. Glad they restored it instead of knocking it down.
Real estate records show it was sold last December for $47,500. That would be a $135,000 profit not including the money spent on restoration.
The subway tiled fireplace is a pretty nice update and goes well with all the white trim. I think I would be afraid to have a fire in the fireplace with the white tiles and wood floors. Looks like just maybe an original Victorian window was saved.
I have a thing for walls with movement that prevent a home owner from dying of sheer boredom.
Do you know of any cheerier color combination in a room than yellow walls with white trim?
Cutest little kitchen with stainless steel appliances. The listing details state granite.
