Two Cute Little Houses for Rent

There are many ways to stay somewhere on vacation other than in a hotel. Here are two cute little houses for rent while on vacation.

Little Houses for Rent No.1:

The house used to be a place to change into swimwear back in the days when people spent their days on the beach and had changing rooms. It is now updated to be a darling little summer beach cottage called Old Saybrook that is in Connecticut.

Today it sleeps 4 on a King size trundle that converts to a daybed/sofa plus two twin bunk beds. Upgrades include air conditioning, flat-screen TV, internet, hot water outdoor shower, and gas grill. All this and the little cottage is only 100 feet from the ocean. It’s in the small family-friendly Great Hammock Beach community providing private beach, boating, and any water sport and fun anyone could imagine. I want a little beach house like this!

Little Houses for Rent No.2:

A Storybook Tree House in Massachusetts called Silo Studio Cottage. This is a very charming cottage to stay in while on vacation. Definitely a one-of-a-kind experience, as stated on Airbnb, where this little house is available to rent.

I am happy knowing a charming, romantic cottage in a forest to escape to exists. Isn’t this bedroom the stuff romantic dreams are made of?

If I could I’d take 2 three-day weekends and stay at both of these little houses for rent.

  1. Hey Sue Pekarek,

    Great share !!

Its been great to read such post.Lately, we’ve seen heaps upon heaps of micro homes crop up with all sorts of eye-popping attributes, whether it’d be glam interiors, wildly low budgets (how does $489 sound?), or major eco-friendly cred. But sometimes, the best tiny house is the one that’s all ready to go, with the floor plan and systems all figured out.

    Have a great day

  2. Hello,

I always wanted a home so that I can decorate it with full excitement. But with this post you have changed my opinion. I will start decorating my rental house.

You shared such an amazing images. It’s surely gonna help me.

    Thanks buddy.

  3. Wow!This is truly awesome.
    Loved the Silo Studio Cottage.
This is really like a dream cottage .

    Thanks for share!

  4. I’ll be getting married at the start of the fall and I’m already looking at places that my wife and I can move into. We may not live near the ocean, but these can still give me an idea of what to look for. I hope that we can find something nice and cozy like the wood cottage as our first place to live.

  5. A little house vacation is the best way to enjoy the outdoors and find peace within yourself. This is a great example of that. Thanks for the ideas!

  6. I’d love to live on the second and third house. It seems like a place where Gandalf and his friends would chill out and smoke his pipe. I love the fantasy-book vibe in it. Awesome post Sue!

  7. I like the second little house because it looks just like something out of a storybook. That would certainly be a unique yet very fun way to spend a vacation. Thanks for the post!

  8. Thanks ARod, I went on vacation with a childhood friend and stayed in a little cottage like the beach house, but it was on a little lake.

  9. I wonder if Wendy is close to the first house. The second house looks so cute and darling perfect for a honeymoon couple thanks so much for sharing Sue.

  10. Hi Sarah – Yep, it’s all I really need – just a little cottage. Your kids would love to stay here overnight for sure.

  11. Oh gosh that is so cool you have been there. The main house sounds intriguing too. I hope you get a chance to get some photos of it for sure!

  12. When in saw that the treehouse was in Massachusetts, I had a feeling I knew where it was. Sure enough, I not only know where it is, but I’ve been to Santerelli. About two years ago I did a post about the main house there, which was a museum. Not sure if it still is, but it’s adorable! Thatched roof, shutters, stone…the whole enchilada. I have not seen he treehouse though, but now I just might take a ride there to see it (it’s about 45 minutes away).

  13. So cute! What can I say….. if I didn’t have little kids, I would go live in a place like that treehouse cottage!

  14. I would totally pick the tree house !! So cute and charming I just love seeing the houses you find. Thank you for sharing !!

  15. Not on the shelf, but maybe for a special order item. Probably would be cheaper than going to a craftsman. I myself would probably attempt to make it, cry, stomp my feet, and then decide to go buy one. 🙂

  16. Thank you Erica, that means the world to me. I also have never forgotten this cottage, the window boxes, shutters and arbor and deck. I wonder if they sell whimsical banisters like the little yellow cottage at Home Depot or Lowes… I have to look..probably not.

  17. Very cute indeed. My hubby loves staying at B&B type places. It’s always nice and so very quaint to stay at cottages instead of huge hotels with no charm whatsoever.

  18. I am in love with them all, but I think that little yellow cottage is my new home inspiration! I love the yellow with black accents and the adorable arbor! Great picks Sue!
