Home Decorating Ideas and More Home Projects
Home decorating ideas because we are almost to the home decorating phase for the dining room and entrance. The HGTV Dream Home 2015 master bedroom and hallway are my inspiration for these two home improvement projects. The Dream Home Tour shows a lot of details on the HGTV site revealing where the furniture and accessories can be purchased, but there is no information about the window panels used in the bedroom.
I’ve been searching online for the window panels featured in the bedroom for the dining room. The closest match I have found so far are Wamsutta Gateway Window Panels.
This is the HGTV Dream Home Master Bedroom I am using for my home decorating ideas.
Here’s a close up showing the details on the curtains. It thought it would be fun to find curtains similar to the master bedroom curtains.

So far Wamsutta Gateway at Bed Bath and Beyond is a pretty good hack.
Bed, Bath and Beyond description is:
The Wamsutta Gateway Window Panel features a luxurious all-cotton twill fabric with an all-cotton lining, sewn-in corner weights for elegant drapability, and clean, stylish borders for a beautiful finish. Adds great style and privacy to your room.
If you know where I can find a better match let me know, but I think they look like a good match. I like the touch of design on the edges with a solid color in the center.
WHERE THE CURTAINS WILL HANGWe recently remodeled our entrance by building this entryway that also serves as a divider to the dining room. The window panels will hang on each side of the bow-window you see to the left here.
HOME DECORATING IDEAS FOR THE HALLWAY
We started picking up supplies to hack the HGTV Dream Home 2015 hallway.
So far we have the doors, hinges, trim and black knobs. When I say doors, I mean just door slabs. The slabs are less expensive and we will be drilling the holes for the doorknobs. This will be a lot quicker and easier to do since we won’t need to knock out any door frames.
Getting back to the dining room, I still need to find a chandelier, rug, and finish other odds and ends like paint the bow-window white. I have put it off because Anya (our 12-pound little dog) uses it as her look out and it’s scratched up. I need to order a piece of glass for the top or make a window seat cushion that will stay put.
When I am shopping online, my husband now has me in the habit to check Amazon for the same product to see if they have a better price.
The rug in the HGTV master bedroom pictured above is Fretwork Dhurrie Rug in Seafoam by Ethan Allen for$458.15 for a 5 x 8 rug.
I did not find the exact Ethan Allen rug on Amazon. This is Safavieh Dhurries in Light Blue and Ivory. It looks very similar and is on sale for $131.74 for a 5 x 8. There are many colors to choose from too like navy blue, pink, brown, gold, etc.
Is it just me that is surprised by some of the high design furniture and home decor available on Amazon?
Like this Alpine French Country Burlap Linen Chesterfield Nail Head Sofa, one of my favorite sofa designs.
I am having a hard time finding a chandelier for the dining room. I want it in silver and would be thrilled if I could find a whimsical chandelier.
So far Quoizel Uptown Madison 5-Light Chandelier is at the top of my list. It’s 919.99 on Lamps Plus, but $797.99 on Amazon.
I missed a half price sale at Home Depot for their World Imports Sophia Collection 8 Light Polished Nickel Chandelier. It’s polished nickel like the Quoizel chandelier. Home Depot sells it for $699.99 and I found it on Amazon from a third-party for $549.99.
Fun Home Decorating Ideas
Just for coastal chic fun in a bedroom I wanted to share this white shell pendant chandelier.
I have an Amazon Shop in the sidebar with Home Decor items for you. Check it out.
Thank you for your visits and comments each day, it means the world to me.
