HGTV Dream Home Winner

“There’s No Place Like Home” may be what the winner is saying while clicking her heels and the good witch waves a wand over her head. The lucky duck winner of the beautiful Cape Cod HGTV Dream Home 2015 on Martha’s Vineyard is Kathy O’Dell. She will receive the home plus a 2015 GMC Acadia Denaili and a cash prize of $250,000 from Quicken Loans.

HGTV said the winner “was so amazed” when they ambushed her Friday at a local restaurant. Kathy thought she was helping set up her friend at the restaurant who she was told won the HGTV Dream Home, only to surprisingly find out that it was she who actually won. How fun is that!

HGTV Dream Home is this beautiful Cape Cod

Kathy lives in Huntsville, Alabama and is a retired computer programmer. She is a mother of five and grandmother of six. I am thinking of all the family fun they will have in the beautiful Cape Cod home.

Psst! Here is maybe a secret of how to win the contest. The winner is a big fan of HGTV. She and her husband Steve would enter the HGTV Dream Home 2015 Sweepstakes “twice daily almost every day of the week.” They would also always talk about winning the house every time they entered.

I don’t know about you, but next year I am going to follow in their footsteps by entering twice a day and talking about it every time too. Who’s with me?  Then maybe next year it will be you who is the winner or even me!

All I can say is that yes Virginia there is a Santa Claus and Fairy Tales do come true.

Congratulations to Kathy O’Dell!

What’s your dream?

  1. Oh you spelled that out right girl. I love the new show Fixer-Upper and am totally on board with that dream. Happy Easter

  2. Of course, of course the taxes are high there Sherry. I don’t know how all that works out for the winners every year, but I am sure it comes up as an issue. I’d use the $250,000 for it is what I first thought and then after that, who knows. Happy Easter and thanks for commenting.

  3. Hate to be the “wet blanket” but I doubt I could afford the property taxes on such a house.

  4. Well, I entered twice a day and look where it got me lol. Naw, JK I’m so happy for the winner! And yes, we shall do this again next year for sure!

  5. Hello Sue!
My dream is more realistic 🙂 It will be to have Chip & Joanna Gaines from the HGTV show “Fixer-Upper”, come to my house to redesign my interior home decor in a more country farmhouse style (furnitures & all)! Why not? 🙂

  6. Then next year you and me will do the every day twice a day together. Plus, you’re young and you and Del have time on your side, xo.

  7. Oh yes, I had not thought of it that way, but you’re so right she was a hard working woman who paid her dues and is getting a reward. That my friend is for sure the Cinderella in this dream come true.

  8. I’ll never have my dream home because Del and I have totally different dream homes. I don’t believe I’ll live long after he passes to get another home. It is my dream to own a lot nicer home than we have because our home we have now is not nice at all.

  9. Bless Kathy’s little heart. I love a good fairy tail especially when it comes true. I do covet the blue bedroom but that’s ok, I think it is alright to wish it was me. I am so happy the winner is a hard working mother that has paid her dues in life and is now going to reap a few rewards.
