Home Tour – A Lake Michigan Cottage
Home Tour today is a Lake Michigan Cottage. The listing calls it a cottage. It is designed and decorated like a cottage, but its actually big house living on a lake. Nothing wrong with that, except it’s not mine. I want it and can’t have it. It would be lovely to live lakeside.
A bit of grand lakeside living is what you will see in this cottage home tour. But, not so grand like in ostentatious, no. It’s grand in style. Not too big and not too small, it’s medium, maybe just right. The asking price is grand though at $6,895,000.
The cottage is on Lake Michigan in Bay Harbor, Michigan. It has a total of 21 rooms. I think a housekeeper or two should come with new ownership. Six bedrooms with one of them sporting a boat-shaped bed. Seven full baths, fireplace, home theater, wine cellar, 1st floor master, and an 8+ vehicle garage.
This Lake Michigan cottage is in big snow country in Michigan near the top of the mitten, and has a luxurious paver driveway because it has snow melt; imagine that! I heard a discussion on the radio just the other day about people in Chicago want the sidewalks to have snow melt. Umm, no, that’s not going to happen anytime soon.
Welcome to Lake Michigan Cottage Home Tour. I could not resist dressing her up in a blue frame and adding a banner to enhance her raging beauty. I am liking this big cottage. The real estate property details say the house has a 100-foot u-shaped dock, swimming area, lounging area, and plenty of room for water toys. Just wait until you see the beds, the bedroom decorating, and colors; they are the star in this home tour.
This not too large and not too small, but just right cottage is designed by Haisma Design and built by Kane Construction.
Cottage colors and patterns nestled in front of the fireplace. Does it come furnished? Sold!
Bright white kitchen cabinet doors. I spy three slim silver lights hanging over the island.
Another living room area with beautiful views and cottage blue and white striped sofa. The windows and fireplace steal the show.
Simply nothing boring about the decorating. Beautiful bold red carpeting with what looks like gold stars. I would buy this house just for the red carpet.
I am quietly exhaling.
The quality just keeps on coming.
This bedroom seems to have the best view.
Storybook picket fence headboard and footboard bed. Adorable flowers on the wall and color-drenched bedspread. I think everything is so full of color in just the right way in this cottage.
The princess must sleep here. More huge flowers painted on the wall, more lime green, but paired with yellow this time and a tiny GOLDEN chandelier.
Now they have thought of everything! Shipmate bunk-beds sleeps eight. This is Ah-maz-ing! I have goosebumps.
See what I mean about the bedrooms? An unexpected bed shaped like a boat. Or did you see that one coming?
Go away! I am napping on the most wonderful extra-wide window seat in gold. Writing posts about houses is a lot of work and I am getting sleepy.
That’s it for the home tour today. Good-bye lake Michigan cottage. You’ve been a good guest on the blog today. I envy your someday new owners.
