Cape Cod Home Tour – A Wife in Progress

Today’s Cape Cod Home Tour spotlights Jenna of A Wife in Progress. Jenna is a fun DIY blogger I recommend to follow. She is busy transforming her home day by day. She engages her readers and pokes a little fun at herself along the way. You can tell by the quality of her detailed tutorials with lots of before and after action, she is a serious DIYer, but she presents it in an easy to follow style all her own.

Originally from Ireland, Jenna says it was not until she and her husband Brian bought a home that she started blogging as a way to share her projects with friends and family back home. Her husband says she has DIY ADD starting and not always finishing projects. Those of us who tackle home projects can easily relate to that. I love Jenna’s home and blog and bet you will too.

Cape Cod Happy Home Tour - A Wife in Progress Kitchen Before

The kitchen makeover has my head swirling. When they bought the home the cabinets were dark wood with little storage and function.

A Wife in Progress blog kitchen makeover after

The smart couple kept their kitchen makeover affordable by resurfacing some of the cabinet doors. Added some custom cabinets, oven and microwave. Plus don’t you just love the cape cottage style window above the sink? Gosh yes.

Breakfast bar with pendant lights - A Wife in Progress

One of Jenna’s favorite spots and I confess mine too is the new breakfast bar. Her kitchen tour details the chairs are Uptown Parsons bar stools from Target.

Polished Nickel Pendant lights - A Wife in Progress

They added polished Nickel industrial pendant lights over the breakfast bar. I could stay here all day she says and so could I. My own lighting dreams coincidentally are all about shiny polished Nickel style pendant lights!!

DIY Mosaic backsplash by A Wife in Progress

I am gushing over the mosaic backsplash colors.

If you’re budget minded you’ll be interested to know the tile is an Instant Mosaic Peel and Stick Tile system. Isn’t that amazing? I can’t tell the difference one bit. It is a real glass tile with real stone and metal with the grout being the only plastic part. She said it is easy to install, just peel and stick, except for needing to cut around outlets and the window.

Not sure if they’re the same product or not, but I’m about to order some of those peel n stick tiles on etsy after seeing them on another blog. Jenna’s tiles look sooooo real!

    Thanks for the inspiration Sue!

  4. I like the kitchen cabinets a lot too plus I like their cabinet door handles. They did need to have a few of the cabinets custom built new, but most of them are the door replacements. Anythink you do comes out above perfection – aka – your tables, so if you ever do your cabinets I am convinced they’d be marvelous.

  5. I love the way Jenna redid her kitchen cabinets. I have been thinking of redoing my ugly oak cabinets with the bead board in the inserts for a long time now. Even if she doesn’t finish everything she starts I say bless her little heart, at least she gets started. That is a lot more than I can say for myself.
