English Country Beauty
ENGLISH COUNTRY HOUSE
The moment I saw this English Country house my heart melted. The colors blend so well with the countryside like the green tone of the shutters, soft contrast of the cream-colored exterior and the stone and stucco exterior, matching stone sitting walls and cedar roof, along with the lines of the roof that add a serene drama. Whew-did I just say that, I think I am in love!
This English country beauty is a renovated 80-year old ranch situated on a prestigious southern New Jersey golf course. It was transformed into a 2-story, 7,000 square foot English country estate. Add to that, the beautiful English style gardens that surround the home and you have a winner. It sits quietly, unpretentious like a great oak tree. The landscaping does not obstruct the view of the house in the first photo below and strikes a chord of perfect balance. The inside is just as lovely.
I did not expect the windows, fireplace stone color, or wall treatments. Looking around I see two matching couches, four matching chairs of two each, two sofa tables, and four matching lamps.
A lot of custom built-ins in this English country house. I like the seamless blend of the built-in with the double doors.
Want the green plaid chair and ottoman.
View of the kitchen from the family room. Want the green couch too! I am just realizing the connection of the green couch, chair, and cream colors in the kitchen and dining room are a direct reflection of the outside of the house.
English style kitchen looking at family room. I love the green island, chandelier, and cream colored cabinets.
Even the far wall with the picture on it seems to be the same stone work as the outside of the house. Nice upholstered bar stools and island sink.
Master bedroom sitting area
Master sitting and shower are kinda dreamy.
Matching wallpaper and curtains.
Complete with an English style pub. Bar and game table. As I look around, the bar chair fabric complements the fabrics used for the island chairs in the kitchen and the chairs in the living room, and the wood is the same as the kitchen island chairs, sofa tables in the living room, and some of the other free-standing furniture.
Adler wood was used for this custom-built bar. I am learning that Adler wood is better than Cherry or Maple and makes for a warm and elegant presentation. I have to agree with that judging by the beauty of this bar.
The pool house before the renovation.
Pool house after and is a mini-me of the house. Lush and lovely English gardens surrounding the pool house is perfect.
Pool House after with some special effects
I am not really sure which photo is the front and which photo is the back. I found this lovely English Country home at GardnerFox Associates. I hate to say goodbye to such a lovely English country home.
