Colorful Floating Home in Eastlake Seattle
COLORFUL FLOATING HOME IN SEATTLE

If you’re a fan you know I like to feature houseboats and floating homes. It’s an unobtainable dream of mine to live in Seattle in a floating home. I think they are whimsical.
This is a cute two bedroom home full of color inside and out. It’s a bit cluttered decor-wise for my taste. Full of a lot of color for stimulation that is just what we need this time of year. Today, house-peeping this floating home is like going on a micro-vacation. Let’s go.
No grass to cut so lots of potted plants. I just love it when floating homes and houseboats are painted bright whimsical colors like this pink.
It looks like a cute dutch door here in the kitchen and pink countertops, but other photos reveal the countertops are a deep, rich orange color.
I think someone artistic lives here. Nice space, but I am staring at the colorful painting on the wall.
Rare color block backsplash above the sink that is not often seen.
It’s a whole different way of life.

Exciting Doreen, I’ll be excited to see and hear about the Florida houseboat.
Very cute, although like you the decor isn’t exactly my taste, but it’s appropriate for the environment I suppose.
btw, we are staying on a houseboat in the Keys in February :).
I’m happy that you too think all this color is really something to see. The Sleepless in Seattle house sold for a huge amount recently.
I could see staying in a house boat for a vacation but I am not sure about living on one. This one has so much personality and marvelous vivid colors that would certainly make up for any of the draw backs of living next to the water. Every time I see a floating home like this I do think of Sleepless in Seattle.
We think alike on the no mowing and upkeep of grass.
I think it’s so quaint. I love floating homes, especially the no mowing living. Now that’s what I call a vacation home! 🙂
Oh Crystal, that sounds like the most wonderful summer memory living on a boat. Thank you for letting me know about it.
This is a really cute home. I am actually surprised to see that I love the color choices, but they are combined really well together.
This reminds me of when I lived on my Dad’s boat with him for almost a full summer. It was actually the best summer I had. (He had a house too, but it was a rare treat to be able to live on our boat.)
Another gem is a perfect way to describe this happy houseboat, thank you Sarah.
I know you love those houseboats Sue! This one is another gem – the decor is just perfect! Great post!
Goodness Carol, I can’t express how interesting your comments always are and happy to hear you think houseboat living would be fun too.
I wish I could paint, it’s in me somewhere. Floating homes are anchored to stay stable. I am so happy you loved seeing this home Carolann.
I love that painting on the living room wall! I’ve always wanted to create something like that myself. It makes me want to run out and some paints and canvas! What an adorable space! I wonder if the house rocks back and forth with the current. The outside colors are beautiful! It’s amazing to see how some folks live so differently than the “traditional” way we do. Awesome Sue!
I love the house and I love the bright colors. My aunt lived on a houseboat on Lake Union in Seattle for many years. I always thought it would be so much fun!
