A little place of heaven on earth is Mermaid Cottages on Tybee Island in Georgia.  A perfect home away from home is all of their cottages. Today I am featuring Mermaid Manor Cottage. A fully renovated historic cottage decorated mermaid beach style with local art and vintage treasures.

The cottage has charm and decorating style in every nook and cranny.   To begin with, the picket fence in the yard was custom-made and has a mermaid sign hanging on it hand-carved by a local artist.

Mermaid Manor circa 1935 is a vacation rental cottage that has room for sleeping 8, three bedrooms, and two bathrooms.  It is in the historic Back River District and is in easy walking distance to the Kayak Launch area, Fisherman’s Walk Fishing Pier, the beach, restaurants. and shopping.  The kitchen is fully stocked with food basics and any appliance you may need if you want to eat-in after a long fun-filled day on Tybee Island.

  1. Oh just WOW! You may not know how obsessed I am for these cottages, I just adore them. If you do rent one let me know which one it is. Too fun and I am so happy to hear how idyllic the beach and cottages are in person.

  2. This is the beach we went to when I visited the kids in SC! It was gorgeous and the rentals are incredible. The next time we visit, we want to rent one of the cottages for a few days. It was early May, so it wasn’t very crowded at all. Loved every minute of it.

  3. Too funny. You put a huge smile on my face and of course they should let you stay there for free since you’re a Mermaid too. I am a tad obsessed with these cottages.

  4. This place is beautiful! I think I have seen it before, and now that I think about it, doesn’t it seem completely obvious that I should pay a visit and stay there? 😉

  5. Hi! Glad you liked the cottage tour as I think Mermaid Cottages are kind of special. Tybee Island (sometimes called Savannah Beach)is a barrier island 18 miles from Savannah, Georgia and is a major tourist destination.

  6. Sue, where is Tybee Island in Georgia? We have recently discovered the coastal area around St Simons Island and love it. This cottage is adorable and I have enjoyed the tour!

  7. Hi Terrye – I read that the tub is one of the things kids who stay here just love too. Thanks for stopping by!

  8. Hi Debra, your dolls would look good lined up on the window seat. My Facebook reveals a woman who stayed here last week and she “loved it.”

  9. Such wonderful ceiling angles! I’ll curl up with all the pillows on the window seat and enjoy the water views.
