Tybee Island Vacation Mermaid Cottages are cozy cottages & historic homes away from Home, per their Mermaid Cottages website. They have delightful cottages named A Mermaids Tale, A Shore Thing Tybee, Barefoot Bliss, Beach Boys Bungalow, Castaway, Flip Flop, and too many more to mention.
This is a home tour look at some of the cozy/historic Mermaid Cottages available spotlighting Inlet Breeze, along with a Tybee Island Vacation cottage for sale called Pink Flamingo Cottage.
Tybee Island vacation cottages are located in Georgia and their customers are very happy with accommodations and everything there is to do on vacation on Tybee Island and within Mermaid Cottages. Sound like a good place to take a vacation to you?
Their blog shows incredible weather with it being 75 degrees, sunny, blue skies, and people enjoying the beach on this past January 16th.
Mermaid cottages on Tybee Island welcome “pets and their well-behaved humans to many of their cottages.” First up is some colorful vacation rental cottages. Then we will see a bit of one in particular called Inlet Breeze and the above mentioned Tybee Island Mermaid Cottage for sale.
A Mermaids Tale Cottage – I have a personal love for all things mermaid-related. This delightfully named cottage is on “Mermaid Cottages Corner”. Mermaid Tale Cottage was built in 1950, sleeps 9 and has dining for 9. It has 2 master suites with king beds and master baths, TV’s in the bedrooms and living room, is pet friendly, backyard and side yard for children to play in, and a fully equipped kitchen.
A Mermaids Tale Cottage was “featured on the 2008 Tybee Tour of Homes.”
Back River Bungalow on Tybee Island Mermaid Cottages is a newer cottage built in 2007. Staying here on Tybee Island while on vacation gives you “Guaranteed reservations at Paula Deen’s Lady and Sons Restaurant and Uncle Bubba’s Restaurant. NO WAITING IN LINE!! This is a wonderful bonus for all you Paula Deen fans.”
Castaway Cottage. Built in 1955, it has 3 bedrooms, and is pet friendly for little dogs under 25 pounds, complete with white picket-fenced front yard and private patios.
Fish Camp Cottage c1924 is a happy place filled with “art, comfy beds to snuggle, and a garden to dream and relax.” Simply a feast for the eyes with the moon-shaped cut outs on the turquoise shutters.
Flip Flop Cottage c1955 is termed a “classic ground level beach cottage.” A funky, fun welcoming cottage exterior.
Key Lime Parrot c1936. One of their most popular Tybee Island Vacation cottages is Key Lime Parrot that is painted such a cheery color. It has an outside shower with Jasmine surrounding it that surely gives an amazing experience.
Old Love Cottage c1921 is another classic with ocean views from “Tybee’s original cottage row. Tin roof, bead board walls, pocket windows, and picket-fenced yard. Less than 100 steps (99 1/2 to be precise!) from the beach.”
I’ve gotten carried away and featured so many of Tybee Island Vacation cottages. I might do a series including a cottage of the week. Paula Deen’s Savannah Beach House Y’all Come Inn is on my to-do list too.
Inlet Breeze. Built in 1926 was “featured in the Jan. 2009 “Coastal Living” Magazine Guest Book article!” It is an Old Tybee Boarding House that is completely restored.

Inlet Breeze is a cottage with extra-large bedrooms and living room While renting this Tybee Island cottage they have included a Karaoke machine, and a large 32″ TV which many of the other cottages also include.
Pink Flamingo Cottage c1930 that is for sale was “featured on a Today Show real estate segment back in 2011!” The cottage was built in 1930, sleeps 4 and has 2 full bathrooms.
It has received a “Tybee Island Preservation award for outstanding work and stewardship of the islands historic cottages.” Attention to details like the pink flamingo drawer pulls let you know this kitchen is well-loved. This has a bit of the 50s retro kitchen look like another post here on HK.

Pink Flamingo cottage is the perfect size to live in while on your Tybee Island vacation.
Wonderful spot to sit and enjoy your coffee or for the kids to have their ice cream cones.
